Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
What is an MRI scan?
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) produces images of the anatomy without the use of radiation that is required with modalities like X-Ray and CT scanning. MRI combines the physical properties of strong magnetic fields with low-intensity radio waves to produce computer generated detailed images of the soft tissues, muscles, nerves and bones in your body.
MRI is a non-invasive procedure that has no known side or after effects. The procedure is painless; in fact, you won't see or feel anything.

At Vantage Diagnostic Imaging, our High Field Open-MRI is designed for maximum openness and reducing claustrophobia.
The MRI weight limit is 500 pounds, allowing it to accommodate most large-framed patients comfortably.

Once your scan is completed, our technologists will send the images to our Board Certified Radiologist who will review and interpret your scan. A written report of the results will be sent to your referring doctor within 48 hours. In most cases, your physician will have your results in 24 hours. A disc of digital images is also available upon request.
